The Matchplay Ladder is an enjoyable but competitive training environment where Heach Coach AJ Muscillo roams and works with all players tactically and mentally to help improve current competition an tournament results.  It is also for players wishing for extra practice / matchplay in general.

It is an environment that is similar to all national and international tournaments where new balls are used, singles sticks are put in and it contains a ladder system that helps creates the pressure environment for all athletes to deal with nerves, expectations and opponents of all different styles and abilities. It is by far the most realistic matchplay around outside of ranking tournaments but also has the added benefit of the on-court coach just like the WTA Tour. This system has followed in the footsteps of the world renowned IMG Nick Bollettieri War Courts in Florida.

Every player is required to wear match gear and the Tennis Australia code of conduct is followed. The format is 2 full sets with a super tie-break 3rd set. It again runs as a challenge ladder where the winner moves above the player they beat and vice-versa if you lose. There is a final in the last week of each term that is best of 5 sets with a prize giveaway to the winner. Prize is selected from a 200m reel of Solinco string, 60 pack of Wilson Pro Overgrips or a box of brand new Wilson Championship balls (prizes may be reduced if a set minimum of players entered for the term is not reached).

Players are expected to arrive 15 minutes before their schedule match time and warm up against their opponent to be ready for a sharp start time. This set start time is another benefit as players/parents don’t need to hang around all day like at the tournaments and are generally in and out of the competition within 90 minutes.

All players are required to give 100% at all times and exercise good sportsmanship otherwise they are replaced by somebody else in the draw.

Applications are welcome to AJ by email to participate in this "Matchplay Ladder" so that we can assure the standard is suitable for you and others involved. If not, an alternative program will be offered for you that will better suit your needs.
